hello hello i'm back!

wow, so many things happened i don't even know how to start.
Many people are curious so I'll try my best to share the stories^^
But for now, i'll just give a general overview first heh.

Tokyo is really such an interesting place, so diverse and full of culture yet extremely modern.
Feels like it's too fast for me to catch up, this urban jungle. People watching is fun:

But amidst the glitz and glamour, there is this undeniable heavy air of... depression. It's very real. and sad.

I love that place. All the padi fields, quiet streets and sunflowers.
I felt like i was living out of some drama/ anime half the time ahah.

Ok, it's almost 2. Way past my bedtime.
My bodyclock's finally been readjusted to a normal person's time!
Been sleeping at around 11pm when i was there=D
I don't want to mess it up again. ahah

Last week, I celebrated my birthday. Thank you everyone, you made it so sweet for me ^^

Appreciate every note, message, FB wish, gift and hug. I felt the love! *v* haha

He is called Head of Enlightenment- HOE. The only one in the world, a product by 1/2 T.
The pretty flower has withered already but he is still looking very bright! haha

My brother gave me a music box with the song, Hey Jude.
I mentioned it once that i like the song very much and he remembered :')

Nina sewed a pillow for me
and i overslept for work(again!) the next day when i slept on it haha.

It was also the first time my family had a supper birthday celebration.
We ate till almost 3AM! Kudos to grandma.

Went to the Pixar exhibition yesterday.

Really, really inspiring!
If they had provided clay and paint, i would have started immediately haha. Everything is so meticulously and wonderfully done, perfect.

After that, I went to the flyer with my family.
Because of my Dad's wheelchair, we got to skip the whole que worth about 1-2 hours?
The feeling of casually walking past the whole bunch of people queuing is really blissful~ haha

One memory I'll keep
was on the last day,

after playing water games on the rooftop, almost everyone went back to wash up
and a few of us lied down, right in the middle of the court with the sun shining fiercely on our faces. and Jiahao was just randomly tossing water bombs in the air.
soaking wet; the anticipation, looking at the bright blue sky and white clouds, laughing and screaming and water bombs splashing all over felt almost... unreal.

it felt like i was living a scene from a movie about happy carefree summer days.

I am such a blessed girl, that my Heavenly Papa loves me so much to let me enjoy like this^^

Was there for family camp. It was a blast!
I feel more empowered now to GO!: )

The missionaries/ninjas from KY.

We also had a radical time of worship on the last night for the youths.
It really was amazing. To worship God together with everyone.

This was a time where everyone just ran and jumped over the boxes representing things in our lives that we will overcome. We were singing 'Free To Run' while we did this- very exhilarating!

It was all very timely too, especially since I'm getting prepared for my worship mission trip to Japan in about a month's time..: )

Ok, i'm back to the internship office. When I thought that I was done with that place..
haha it's actually really God's good leading and provision. Cuz now I have enough cash for my mission trip to Japan(!) this coming July: ) GOD PROVIDES!

But the environment is really pretty stifling.. confirming my decision in not wanting to become an in-house designer. Geez every time i think about the office, i get the going-back-to-school-after-a-long-and-wonderful-holiday sick in the gut feeling haha k i'm just rambling. i just never want to be desk bound that's all.

I thank God for holding on to me the past 2 years. He has been so faithful and good to me, pulled me out from the pit and put unspeakable joy in my heart.

Grad trip with Rach, Miao, Bernie and Vmay!
Taiwan was alright. First 2 days in Hualien, next 6(?) days in Taipei.

I fell sick on the first night in Taipei- gastric flu. I left TW with a better understanding and knowledge of their TV programs.... (which btw, consists of TONS of bra ads@_@)

Other than that, i enjoyed myself a lot during the time in Hualien.
There are too many pictures and things that happened, so i shall just blog about my favourite moments.

We visited the beach!

It was really windy. We were stuck in the same spot for about half an hour cuz we were too cold to walk along the shore hahaha
Made a new friend:

He stuck with us awhile, till i think it got too boring for him cuz we weren't moving at all heh.

Pan pan (our 50+ year old driver lol) then brought us to the gouge.
It was beautiful:

And of course the highlight.... FIREWORKS!
We played it at the lawn of the house we're staying in.
We got to stay in a very nice place!

Nice eh.. Even has a loft.

Anyway, fireworks were damn fun and thrilling! Gotta sprinttt for your life after lighting them up lol. after playing with those, SG's sparklers are seriously pathetic.. haha

After that was off to Taipei.

Of course we went to Shilin.
Very crowded, most of the food were too oily for my still recovering stomach to take:/ It was a foodie's heaven. But apparently, was not up to Miao, Vmay & Rach's expectations.

Even though she still looks very happy here eating the chicken cutlet.

This is my favourite from Shilin, some 'frog egg' jelly drink. Miao ate too many fishballs.. hahahahahahahaa kiddinggg!

Those are giant takopachi balls. Why make many small ones when you can just make a mega one? & it's very yummy.

Conclusion: Everyone felt that the food from Xi Men Ding is better.

And so the most mentally/physically draining week of my life is over.
I don't think i remember feeling so stressed out and hopeless before.. geez, sounds overly dramatic for just a project. but the underlying things went way beyond this project.At times, certain situations were like a reflection of my life, and it made me feel so.. helpless.
And honestly, i'm not happy with what's on my booth. Perhaps somethings here and there were pretty alright, but on a whole.. :\ just very frustrating.

BUT ANYWAY,
it's over (sort of). time to stop dwelling on it.

and there's a bunch of people i owe it to. If not for them, i'll still probably be rushing for it now, haha. If there is one good thing that came out from FYP, it would be that it made me see what great family & friends i have. Love you all, you know who you are... : )

When i lie down and look at the sky through my window

it always gives me a sense of something greater. like there is more to life than what i am going through now. i suddenly seem very small and my situations far less significant in the light of this vast yet gentle sky with its clouds quietly passing by.

i think the sky is something very tenderly created by God.

I'm back from my world of christmas, camp, new year celebration, feasts:

Back to reality.

Camp was nothing short of awesome. I've not felt this refreshed or close to God in a very long time.. Not even in the previous camps; when His presence just overwhelms your whole being and you cannot help but tremble under the weight of His glory. It is beyond words, really. For the lack of a better word, AWESOME.

It is about the process,
not the end product.

True for almost everything in life, especially life itself.
As much as i want my FYP is be something great, i got to remind myself that it is constantly about the process of it as well. Most of the time we spend our lives waiting for something to end- can't wait to graduate, can't wait to finish this or that.. But i think in the midst of it, we forget that it's about the ongoing moment; to live for NOW.

One of the reasons why i really admire Rinpa Eshidan (apart from their AWESOME works) is because they really show this through their stuff. They do beautiful giant paintings and paint right over them once they are done, creating newer artworks over it.

:O i hope i will reach that stage of conviction...

It feels a little strange that i've finished my SIP ahaha that i don't have to struggle to wake up at 720 tomorrow and wait for lunch time to come at noon.
It's been a pretty good three months i'll say: )

I enjoyed the late night picnic/feast with home made salad and chicken + fishing too. I never knew that changi beach was such a popular place at night. It was 3am but it felt more like 3pm with the sun hidden- kids were still running around playing catch and families were sitting on mats laid out along the beach chatting away.

Saturday was hot. It reminded me of how much i had not been in the sun. and i realised that i don't really miss it haha.. is that a good or bad thing?

My Saturdays so far have been committed to the upcoming little cafe at Paya Lebar trinity church- identity, branding, buying furniture, drawing the mural, food tasting(yum!), interior, etc.. It's a new experience and i'm enjoying it: ) I feel that doing this has made me see some things in a wider perspective and how i'm so not exposed to the 'real world' haha..

Anyway, FYP is coming up! It's my last chance to make up for all the things i have lacked and the mistakes i've made in my 2.5 years in TDS. And the biggest opportunity to do something great! Haha let's hope this optimism will stick throughout..
But i think this is a good enough way to start.

Recently, "Dreams" has been a recurring topic in my conversations with people.. somehow, it will all flow in that direction.
I used to think it's better not to have too solid a dream.. I was also afraid to find out what are the plans God has for me because my mindset is that God's plan = something that requires great sacrifice. great sacrifice= probably doing something against your will= not your dream.
so why bother dreaming?
then i realised my mindset was totally wrong because the fundamentals and the beliefs that it was based upon were wrong in the first place. If i had believed wholeheartedly that my God is all good, all loving and all knowing, why should trusting Him with my dreams even be an issue?? it shouldn't at all. in fact, it becomes easy. and such a happy thing to do. because i know that He is GOOD and He knows what are the things i love, my dislikes, my limits, etc. heh. see, it's simple..: )

Anyway, Over & Out was amazing! I really enjoyed everything,
much to my surprise. haha.

Ok, hope we all have a happy week ahead. i'm waiting for my beloved saturday already.

i was an event photographer today! For some afternoon tea tasting thing.
and i realised that it really is not the job for me because what i'm good at is...

anyway, the boss told me to 'capture the people's reactions' after they've tried the tea.
it was a disaster.
i caught so many stupid faces that after i showed him the photos i took he said
"Uh.. i don't think they can use your photos."

ahahaha but the photos were all very funny.
i don't think the tea was very nice HAHA

and today i finally knew how event photographers feel when people throw them dirty looks 'cos they are in the way of everything. i am guilty of doing that but i'll prob still do it next time 'cos
